Industry Leaders Urge Congress to Avoid another Continuing Resolution

Industry leaders from the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), Air Force Association (AFA), Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), National Guard Association of the United States, and Navy League of the United States urged Congress to pass an FY16 budget before another Continuing Resolution (CR) occurs on Oct. 1, 2015. Under a CR, many government agencies are unable to fill vacancies and hire new staff. They must also sign multiple short-term contracts, requiring extra man hours to sift through paperwork and determine cost estimates.

GSA Increases FY16 Per Diem Rates

Federal employees can breathe a little easier when on official work travel in fiscal year (FY) 2016. That’s because they will see some small increases in the FY16 Per Diem rates. This does not necessarily mean drive-thru dining will become a thing of the past while on Temporary Duty (TDY), but what it does mean is that Federal employees will enjoy a slightly higher than standard Per Diem rate in roughly 400 counties throughout the Continental United States (CONUS).

Navy’s Way Ahead: The Annual Navigation Plan

Current Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Jonathan Greenert released the Department of the Navy (DON) Annual Navigation Plan that highlights DON’s intended track and investments for 2016-2020. This plan provides a common viewpoint, so that everyone in the Navy is aware of the investment strategy and goals over the next five fiscal years.

OPM/ODNI Look to Agencies for Interim Assistance
